CDPoker Review:

Pros

  • Most games are fairly easy to play
  • Excellent promotions and bonus offers
  • Fast and stable software

Cons

  • The web site is slanted heavily Holdem players
  • The graphics could be better
  • Not many players during off hours

Games and software

Like all the web sites in the iPoker network, CD Poker’s games are powered by the word-famous PlayTech software. The performance is remarkably fast and stable, and we encountered very few hitches during our hours of playing. One area where CD Poker drops the ball a bit is in its graphics quality. As solid and zippy as the performance is, we couldn’t help but wish that the graphics were better. Sure they serve their purpose well enough, but with many other poker sites offering far superior graphics, we were a bit surprised at the lackluster quality of CD Poker’s graphics.

Bonuses

CD Poker definitely redeems itself in the bonus and promotions aspect, and a lot of their programs are geared towards keeping their existing clientele happy. Sure the poker room has some attractive offers for new players as well, but it is nevertheless nice to see a poker room take such pains to satisfy their existing user base. High hands and bad beats to can get you some pretty good consolation jackpots for instance, and there is even a $50 bonus given for each new player that you convince to sign up.

Free Rolls and Tournaments

CD Poker is also home to one of the most impressive guaranteed tournaments on the Internet. With a prize pool of up to $2,000,000, this is by far one of the biggest jackpots we have ever come across. While entry into this tournament will require a whopping $1580 buy-in, CD Poker offers a host of more affordable options as well.

VIP - Loyalty Clubs

The loyalty program at CD Poker comes in the form of CDPoints, which are based on the table stakes. 600 CDPoints will get you $5 for example, with increasing amounts offered for more points accumulated.

Customer Support and safety

CD Poker offers pretty good customer support via email, phone, and live chat, and all our test inquiries were handled in a professional and timely manner.

Conclusion

While the graphics quality left us a bit underwhelmed, CD Poker has clearly grown by leaps and bounds over the past several years–a feat made more impressive by the fact that it hasn’t really been around all that long. With over 10,000 players registered during a recent peak period, there has to be something in the poker room to pull in that many players. The fairly easy games, the generally stable performance, and the cool bonuses probably have a lot to do with that, and we see even more good things coming out of CD Poker in the future.
