Cake Poker has built up quite a reputation in the online poker world ever since it was established in 2006. Among the poker rooms catering to a smaller market, Cake Poker stands as a formidable force, a feat achieved mainly by its remarkable ease of use and generous player bonuses. The site also offers some of the softest competition in the online poker scene, with a host of easy ring games to look forward to besides. And with monthly bonuses being credited to the player’s accounts automatically every month, this is one site where your bankroll will really go the distance.

Cake Poker Review:

  • Excellent software
  • Good customer support
  • Designed for and by actual poker players

  • A bit short on game variety
  • Fixed table window size
  • Fairly lackluster graphics

Games and software

Cake Poker offers a pretty slim range of poker games, with familiar variants such as Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi Lo, 7 Card Stud, and 7 Card Stud Hi Lo being some of the most notable ones. To Cake Poker’s credit however, these games tend to be on the soft side as we mentioned previously, so there are numerous chances of winning lurking around every corner.

As far as the speed and reliability of the software is concerned, we found very little to be concerned about at Cake Poker. We found the multi-tabling options particularly attractive, although we do wish that there were an option to change the avatar to an image of the players’ choice. It can be a bit disconcerting to be represented by a female avatar when you are a man and vice-versa!

Cake Poker shows that they are on top of the game with a host of bonuses that compare favorably to bonus offers at other web sites. Signing up at the site will get you a 100% bonus that can be worth up to $500. Numerous other bonuses are also offered on a regular basis, details of which you can find on the site.

Free Rolls and Tournaments

If free rolls and tournaments are what you are looking for, Cake Poker certainly has you covered in that regard! Several tournaments are held on a regular basis, and with buy-ins as low as $1, there really aren’t any reasons why you shouldn’t be able to join in. If you are looking for some hotter action, you can also check out the higher ticket tournaments with buy-ins of a hundred dollars or higher. Whichever tournament you go for, you can generally expect to come across a decent number of players and impressive prizes. The guaranteed tournaments are definitely worth keeping an eye out for, as the Sunday event can get you a very respectable $50,000 in prizes. As if that wasn’t enough, Cake Poker also offers a $100, 000 monthly tournament.

VIP - Loyalty Clubs

One of the things that we appreciated at Cake Poker is that all players are equally valued, from the smallest bettor to the most active high rollers. The loyalty club offered is a clear indicator of this and virtually anyone can take advantage of the poker room’s Cake Poker Gold Card and Gold Chips Loyalty Rewards programs.

Customer Support and safety

Cake Poker’s customer support service is quite simply a joy to behold. In the course of a number of test inquiries, a customer service staff always got back to us quickly, and we were pleased with the quality of support offered as well as the thoroughly professional and polite manner in which it was delivered. Email support is available 24 hours a day, and you could usually expect to get a reply in only a few hours.

All in all, Cake Poker provides a pretty solid online poker experience with its stable software, excellent customer support, and a look and feel that was clearly the result of design input from real poker players. We do hope that the game selection could be beefed up somewhat and that the table window could be resized, but these flaws don’t really detract from the fact that Cake Poker can provide quite an enjoyable poker experience.
