Betfair Poker

Online poker room site Betfair Poker using proprietary, software platform and have gaming license in Malta jurisdiction. It's owned by The Sporting Exchange Limited (Betfair).

Betfair should be a familiar enough name to those who have been frequenting the online casinos for a number of years. It is after all the largest sports exchange in the world, and has an excellent reputation for its tight security and trustworthiness. Now, all of Betfair’s best qualities come to fore in the Betfair Poker site, which is licensed under stringent UK gaming regulations.

Betfair Poker used to be a part of the Cryptologic group, but it struck out on its own in 2006 and is now a totally independent entity with their own proprietary software and an exclusive player base. This wasn’t the only move in the making as by 2007, the poker room implemented as many as 15 tables at a time. The graphics also received a much-needed facelift and are now more eye-catching than ever. In addition, a very efficient search function has been introduced, making the poker lobby much easier to use.

Betfair Poker caters mostly to European players and is not open to memberships from the U.S. This is really unfortunate, as the relatively loose games offered by the site should be much welcomed by American players. Nevertheless, the rest of the online poker community can definitely reap all the benefits offered by such loose and soft games. If you are already experienced in online poker, Betfair Poker should provide you enough distraction between more demanding games.

Betfair Poker Review:

  • All tourneys charge a maximum of $10
  • Games are quite loose
  • Software comes in 7 languages

  • Not really the best rake reduction rates
  • Colors can be a bit hard on the eyes

Games and software

One thing we noticed about Betfair Poker is that the game play is remarkably smooth and the graphics are pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the color scheme they chose to lay the site out in was a bit of an eye sore. Some of the finer details of the lobby were a bit hard to see as a result, and we had a bit of trouble finding our way around. Some of the tournament names are quite long as well, and this gave the lobby a bit of a cluttered feel.

Players have the option to play one, two, four, or six tables. The software has been designed to make things easier for the multi-table player, but this option will have to be set upon booting up, or the user will have to restart the software.

Betfair Poker has some of the most generous bonuses around, with as much as $600 offered for new sign ups. In addition, you get a Betfair point for every $.10 you pay in rake or tournament fees.

Free Rolls and Tournaments

Betfair Poker offers a pretty good selection of tournaments, with Single Table and Multi-Table Hold'em options provided.

VIP - Loyalty Clubs

Betfair doesn't have a loyalty program per se, although they do offer a variety of reload bonus options.

Customer Support and safety

All the security protocols as required by law are implemented at Betfair Poker so you can be sure that your money is totally safe and your information is totally secure. Customer support is offered via phone and email.

Betfair's offers some pretty soft competition, so almost anyone has a chance to walk away with some money. Nevertheless, the site remains competitive and engrossing enough so that even experienced poker players should have a good time.
